Dr. Mark Belsey
Now retired, Dr. Mark Belsey was, during his 24 years with the World Health Organization, Chief Medical Officer and head of the Maternal and Child Health and Family Planning. He also served the focal point for Family Health and the International Year of the Family and is the author of “AIDS and the Family,” published by the United Nations in 2005. With the late James Grant and other international public health leaders, Dr. Belsey was instrumental to the development of the WHO’s Baby-Friendly Health Initiative.
