Dr. Eugene Spafford is a leader in information security research & policy & one of the most senior people in academia in information security with over 30 years experience. Dr. Spafford is consultant to national agencies & leaders, major corporations & professional organizations. Dr. Spafford is professor with an appointment in Computer Science at Purdue University, where he has served on the faculty since 1987. Dr. Spafford serves on many advisory and editorial boards and his current research interests are primarily in the areas of information security, computer crime investigation & information ethics. Dr. Spafford is Executive Director Emeritus of the Purdue CERIAS (Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security) program & was the founder & director of the (superseded) COAST Laboratory. Dr. Spafford is also a professor of Philosophy, a professor of Communication, a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Professor of Political Science.
