Suzanne Peterson, Ph.D.


Dr. Suzanne Peterson, BS in Biology from Scripps College and Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology University of Southern California, is a noted expert in cell culture, characterization and differentiation. She has centered on stem cells and has experience in a wide variety of biological fields. Dr. Peterson has authored numerous scientific articles and publications, including the authoritative “Human Stem Cell Manual: A Laboratory Guide” a comprehensive guide for stem cell researchers.
As Senior Scientist at Genea Biocells she developed a screening platform to identify small molecules that rescue muscular defects in Spinal Muscular Atrophy. She also served as Director of Operations for the Center for Regenerative Medicine at Scripps Research Institute, where she focused on generation of induced pluripotent stem cells from endangered marine species. As an ocean lover, Dr. Peterson is using her cell culture expertise to develop new, sustainable sources of seafood.
