Sam Allen

As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Salesforce.org, Sam Allen runs the day-to-day business of a multi-billion dollar business unit. Previously he served as Senior Vice President, COO of Global Marketing and Vice President, Corporate Development and Head of M&A Integration. Sam is a guest lecturer and Entrepreneurial Board member at the Wharton School of Business, where he’s also led a “Start-up Bootcamp,” a board member of Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco and advisor to Detroit’s Downtown Boxing Gym. Previously, Sam served as CEO of ScanCafe, Inc., a successful venture backed start-up and led Cisco’s $10B acquisition integration portfolio. A Commissioned Officer in the US Marines, he was personally decorated multiple times and achieved the rank of Major. He was combat deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovnia in 1996 and led Intelligence/Counter Terrorism missions; he is writing a book about his experiences. Sam has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a BA from the University of Missouri with a minor in Japanese. He and his wife, a public-school teacher¬ and one of the few people on earth who can consistently keep him on his toes, live in the Bay Area with their two sons, the beating heart of his life. Sam is an avid outdoorsman, has run 2 marathons, ridden his bike from San Francisco to Los Angeles and once swam 1.8 miles across Pensacola Bay.
