As the proprietor of Whiskies of the World, he has successfully organized whisky festivals across the United States for more than a decade. Douglas is also the founder of The Whiskey Education Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting whisky knowledge and fostering a culture of responsible enjoyment. Here, he imparts his extensive whisky expertise through monthly tastings and Whiskey Pairing Dinners. In his role as the director of Whiskies of the World Awards, Douglas takes the lead in personally recruiting judges for the annual competition. This ensures a pool of exceptional talent for Whisky EDU's catered events, which can encompass all alcoholic beverages, including wine and beer. Adding to his repertoire, Douglas is the proud owner of Shovels Bar and Grill in San Francisco.
